Main uses: Basil oil is a vital ingredient of Ayurvedic medicines. Ocimum Cannum has a chemical composition of limonene, camphor, methyl cinnamate and linalool which make it anti-microbial and anti-bacterial.
Therapeutic proprieties: It is marked to improve the capability of gastrointestinal system and blood circulation. From long time it has been used for curing problems like strong aching, stings, pyrexia, anxiousness, plutonic transmission and infective diseases. It acts as analgesic, anti-depressant, anti-venomous, cephalic, expectorant, insecticide, nervine etc.
It helps in relieving gout, arthritis and also helps to control acne. Basil oil has proved to be beneficial in the treatment for respiratory problems like asthma, bronchitis and sinus infection.
Contraindications: not be used during pregnancy. Can cause irritation to sensitive skin. Should not be used on children under 16 years old. Not be used in baths.
